21 facts in comparison
A generational choice dressed as a like-for-like one: the ET9 is Wi-Fi 6E, the Deco BE65 Pro is Wi-Fi 7, and the gap in what they include is as wide as the gap in what they transmit.
The Deco is the faster and better-wired node. Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 rated at 10,777 Mbps against 7,800, 3,000 square feet per unit against 2,850, and - the genuinely unusual part at this price - two 5 Gbps ports plus a 2.5 Gbps port on every node, all WAN/LAN auto-sensing. If you run Ethernet between nodes, or your line is past a gigabit, it has headroom almost nothing near it offers.
The ET9's answer is that its software never sends a bill. AiProtection Pro, with intrusion prevention and infected-device quarantine, and the whole parental-control suite, are included for the life of the hardware, in writing. On the Deco, IoT protection, web filtering and the time limits parents actually want sit behind a HomeShield subscription. The ET9 also lets you pin 6 GHz as a dedicated backhaul, or wire the nodes and hand all three bands back to devices - a choice that affects real-world speed more than any figure on either box.
Its limit is the LAN side: only the WAN port is 2.5 Gbps and the rest are plain gigabit, so a wired NAS or workstation is capped at 1 Gbps.
Choose the Deco BE65 Pro for a fast line, wired backhaul, or a house you want on Wi-Fi 7 for the next five years. Choose the ET9 if you would rather never see a subscription prompt, and gigabit on the LAN side is enough for what you plug in.
Head-to-head points: every spec is scaled between these products only, so a product can score high here and modestly on its own page, where the VS Score measures it against the median of its class.
The spec sheet pulls in both directions. These are the gaps big enough to shape the decision — with the actual figures, and what each one means in real-world use.
The Wi-Fi generation supported; later is faster and handles more devices.
The combined theoretical throughput across all bands.
Wired ports on each mesh unit for TVs, consoles or desktops.
